Following the letter sent on January 23, 2012 I received some emails asking that we change our Feb. 26th voting for the District 2 Nickel City Hockey Association to continue.
Therefore at the request of the parents we will move our date to vote to the following day on February 27th which will allow NCHA parents to attend the information session on the 26th.
Rayside and Walden Minor Hockey Associations will also be having their vote on February 27.
Nickel Centre Minor hockey parents are invited to attend this brief information session on Monday Feb. 27th at 7:00 pm at the Garson arena.
If you require any further information on the sessions or any questions in regards to Nickel City Hockey Association please don’t hesitate to contact me at lmitch99@gmail.com
Thank you

Message fron the NCMHA President
Posted on February 1, 2012 – 9:17 pm -January 23, 2012
To: Coaching Staffs of All NCMHA Teams, Parents or Guardians of Players Currently participating on NCMHA Teams
The inaugural season for teams participating in the new District 2 Nickel City Hockey Association is more than half completed. As you are all aware, the Nickel City Hockey Association was formed with the objective of consolidating and promoting rep hockey within District 2, allowing players from all of the District 2 Associations to compete at levels appropriate to their abilities, rather than simply by age.
It is now time to take stock of all of the developments of the past year. We must review all of the positives and negatives from this past season, and we must determine whether or not the members of the participating District 2 Associations wish to continue this partnership on a permanent basis.
Nickel City Hockey Association will be hosting two Information Sessions in the month of February.
Sunday, February 12 at the Edgar Leclair Centre in Azilda at 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, February 26 at Centennial Arena in Hanmer (note: Valley East Progressive Association will hold their AGM and vote immediately after this session)
We are strongly encouraging any NCMHA members to attend the February 12th session in order to be able to attend our Feb. 26th membership information meeting where a vote will take place.
This vote will be on whether to continue having the Nickel City Hockey Association administer rep hockey throughout District 2, or whether to revert to the old model where each association fielded their own rep teams. These information sessions will help you to make an INFORMED decision.
The Nickel Centre Minor Hockey Association will hold their vote on February 26 at 7:00 pm in the upstairs hall of the arena.
Rayside and Walden Minor Hockey Associations will vote on February 27.
If you require any further information on the sessions or any questions in regards to Nickel City Hockey Association please don’t hesitate to contact me at lmitch99@gmail.com
Thank you
